That about sums up AS. Nothing to get excited about. Not terrible by any means but nothing over the top special either. Given you are in LA and going to the NE, pretty much any carrier would be better. Delta and JetBlue would have inflight entertainment. JetBlue also has free, fast internet. Every carrier would have a lot more flight options if you are going beyond BOS/NY. If you mostly fly to HI and within the West Coast, AS is a decent option. If you are flying to smaller cities outside the region, you are better off taking another carrier in most instances.
