That is an interesting article. Hard for me to feel bad for a Captain that makes $251 an hour ($251,000) a year working 1/2 of a normal persons 2000 hours (assuming 80 hours vacation) after a recent $40 an hour pay raise. Still whining too.
I guess I’m just not a Union supporter, for reasons like this.
I haven't read much about the contract negotiations but don't unfairly blame everything on the pilots union. Pilots are legally only allowed to fly a maximum of 1,000 hours per year under FAA regulations.
It's a highly skilled job with and there is a limited pool of qualified people so they have to pay the price. It's not like the $4.24 million that Tilden was paid in 2016.
