I flew LGA-MIA in a DL 717 for work in the back a couple months ago. Without E+ and what felt like a slimline seat, it was miserable - and I had an empty seat next to me! Not really convinced you are going to find a meaningfully better hard product, especially in the back, when flying any of the major airlines...
