Since I have FOSU (fear of screwing up) I always call when I want to use my Chase 1-5 certs: Me: I'm getting a 1-5 certificate in June ((yes, 5 months from now)), can I reserve a room now for August? Marriott: Of course, Ms. Eujeanie - we'll hold it as a points reservation, but we won't take the points out of your account. When you actually get the certificate, call us back and we'll apply it to your reservation.
