Same thing happened to me at ORD about a year ago. I asked two or three UA staffers and they all insisted that I wouldn't be let in, so I didn't bother going over. (Not sure if things have changed, but I believe there were comments here about people actually being refused admittance at ORD, either by TSA and/or by the lounges requiring a flight out of that terminal.)
