I have always been directed there when flying BA or QR J (don't recall flying ET out of OSL, so can't comment on that unfortunately) - my understanding was that J passengers (and possibly some status holders?) were directed to the premium side, whereas those paying for access were directed to the other side. Sounds like they might have given up with this distinction though.
