Yes international to international transit at CAN is easy and there are staff assisting all premium cabin passengers on arrival.
The international part of the terminal is small so not much walking needed. There is a passport and boarding pass check but no transit security.
If all on time it takes perhaps 5 minutes to transit. That said, I would not be comfortable with 1 hour 1 minute transit - Chinese airspace is congested and so delays on arrival are not uncommon. Also China Southern uses the same aircraft for international and domestic - if the aircraft you arrive on has its next flight as domestic then it parks at a domestic gate where you descend the stairs and are bussed across to international terminal. (Separate bus for premium passengers but still adds some time to the arrival process.)
