That is why I don't understand how AC would gain by doing this. Look at the H fare in Tango (highest class). It is $729. You are telling me that customers would choose that over the cheapest Flex in G fare for $490? Pay way more for Tango and get less benefit? They can make the same letters in both Tango and Flex but the highest Tango cannot be more than the lowest Flex. Imagine the AC website, left column Tango is $729, next column over, Flex, $490. What would you choose?

Look at Business class, the lowest is P fare at $867, that is cheaper than the highest Flex in M at $1285. That makes no sense. How is this change good for anyone? Am I missing something?
The lower fare buckets must sell out first before Tango H will pop up in searches. The idea is that for the same fare bucket, AC only wants to give benefits to those who are willing to pay the delta. It is also not a secret that the discounted business fares can be lower than high Flex fares, but then the change/cancellation fees can really hurt the wallet, especially for international tickets. I don't like AC's branded fare structure and hope that it backfires on them. But it's also not a secret that if AC thinks they can squeeze out more pennies from its customers by throwing them under the bus, that they will go out and lease a fleet of new HD buses to run them over.
