I have called the CC company, they explained that it's the 'retailer' that handles the pre-auth, then eventual charge of the card. Circled back with Q and they couldn't see anything wrong with the account, they specifically mentioned that the ticked was confirmed and a receipt produced and all looked good to them.

I had the same problem a year ago. Same response from QF (ie "all OK, just wait"). But it wasn't OK and there was something (unknown to me) that caused it to be stopped in the system even though a ticket number was issued. I rang and "someone did something" that made things happen almost instantly.
