The only time I purchased travel insurance was some years ago when there was that Bird Flu epidemic. Coming back from GIG on UA, my neighbor was looking all flushed, sweating, coughing, sneezing. I asked the FAs for help in moving to another seat but they could not understand why I did not want to sit for nine hours near somebody who was sick. So, I had to stand in the back galley until boarding was finished and then look for an empty seat.
