I just flew another sector with OnBusiness on AA with a J code, so we'll see. It will certainly make making platinum a lot more easy.
If you were rescheduled it doesn't mean much, because the same thing happens with regular award tickets. Yesterday I had an Avios redemption on AA on the last PHL-SYR flight of the day. The flight was delayed and I got them to put me on the previous flight (which was also delayed). They booked me there in full Y and I got the corresponding Avios and Elite Points.
Let's hope your other sector also gets credited.
