Interesting upgrade bid story: I bid for both legs of EWR-HKG-TPE. Did not get the long-haul upgrade bid into Y+ ; not surprised as Expertflyer showed a full load. However, I wanted to try Y+ even on a shorter haul, so put in, and got accepted 100 $US for the HKG-TPE stretch.

But due to the weather snafu, I got notice during my long-haul flight that the A350 for the HKG-TPE stretch was swapped for a 772 w/o Y+. So I correctly surmised that I got into J........which is exactly what happened when I asked for my new board card at the gate [MENTION=295191]HKG[/MENTION].

First time in J internationally........I loved it !
