Agreed. I believe RIC-IAH is currently the longest flight in the world on a 50-seat RJ. When I go to Houston I prefer to connect through ATL on Delta or Southwest.

ExpressJet probably still flies this route because of their maintenance base in RIC. Good news is, they’re slowly phasing out their ERJ-145s and selling them to CommutAir and Trans States so perhaps we will see fewer of them on RIC-IAH in due time.
