It has been TSA policy for 7 years that so long as you have a valid BP (or other like document) for any checkpoint, you may access all checkpoints at that airport. You may find an Officer directing you to the "correct" checkpoint, but that is purely a courtesy and resolved easily.

But, unless you have a lengthy connection at the given airport, going to the airport early enough to clear the checkpoint twice and shlep between terminals seems a bit much for what those places offer.
Yeah... I wouldn't do it for a connecting flight (unless, like you said, it was a rather lengthy connection).

I am thinking about if I arrive several hours ahead of my departure...
