The initial introduction of branded fares was just the start. Air Canada is pleased to announce it's next step in providing flyers with even more flexibility and cost savings, by adding our newest, cheapest ever brand, NoGo. The brand code is NG, and as with all branded fares, this will be appended to the fare basis code. The complete list of economy brand codes is now:
- NoGo: NG
- Tango: TG
- Flex: FL
- Latitude: LT

Here's how it will work.
  • Latitude fares are fully refundable, allow free changes, and count for 125% AQM
  • Flex fares include a free first checked bag, free seat selection, and count for 100% AQM
  • Tango fares are designed for cost sensitive travellers, and basically just include a seat on the plane (if there are any left over). They count for 25%-50% AQM.
  • NoGo fares are designed for those who really want to save money. You don't even have to spend money on a hotel room, because you will be staying at home. No, they don't count for any AQM.
For domestic and US transborder fares, the brand code will appear at the end of the fare basis code (i.e. V3WCFL, V3WCTG, V3WCNG, etc). The good news for travellers is that most travel systems (and agents) will automatically book you into the cheapest available fare brand, regardless of the booking class you use. Thus, you can now book a V class ticket and by default it will be in the NoGo brand. The ticket price of NoGo fares is generally less than Tango fares, and as a bonus you will also be left safely at home. What convenience!

How do I make sure I'm booking the fare type I want?

If booking on Air Canada's website, choosing the fare type in the search results should give you a fare in that category, regardless of the booking class letter. We say "should", because ... well, you know. It's a web site, and those things are complicated.

Otherwise, you will need to check the fare basis codes for all flights on your ticket to ensure they should the correct suffix (NG for NoGo, TG for Tango, FL for Flex).

If you book flights using a corporate booking tool such as Concur or GetThere, you are almost certainly going to get booked into the NoGo fare brand. This option will offer your company enhanced savings, and Air Canada will contribute to your overall productivity by completely eliminating your travel time. This is just one of the many benefits of the new NoGo brand.
