We then stopped to explore the Tripoli Medina / Old City.
The
Arch of Marcus Aurelius, Roman Emperor from 161 to 180 and the last of the so-called
Five Good Emperors.
It was constructed in 165 by Gaius Calpurnius Celsus to commemorate the victories of the
Roman–Parthian War.
We then walked through Tripoli's
Medina Quarter.
The labyrinth of streets and alleys were a real delight to walk through and explore.
