If you want/need to go through Chase, and if the terms and conditions of the Chase coverage require the submission of a police report, then I expect that you will have to obtain a police report. What's so "painful" about sending a check through the mail to obtain a copy of the police report from the police department that took the report?
So you suggest that I contact the other driver's insurance company. Is there any downside to me? I did a quick Google search and most articles advise against talking to the other driver's insurance company.
