Holiday Inn Express, Albany (NY) Airport

(Nothing is coming in search, feel free to merge if somewhere more fitting)

Family used to live off Western so we were well acquainted with the (former) HIX on Western and continued to stay there once it rebranded as a Hampton Inn. Family has since moved to Colonie and that winter storm yesterday resulted in Amtrak taking five hours and needing a quick/close overnight option. There are a bunch of hotels on Wolf Road with the closest being this and a Staybridge Suites, this won on price as we were looking at a <12 hour stay.

It's apparently mid conversion as there are signs asking forgiveness for off brand quirks, but it was fine. I'm not a regular enough HIX person to notice some things, and I was thrilled with the cinnamon rolls at breakfast which is my primary HIX marker. Late arrival, no issue. Easily switched from one king to two doubles on the 3rd floor. Wasn't very full and was quite quiet. Breakfast was relatively empty. Wouldn't want to be here when it's more crowded as the fitness center is teeny.

Significant meeting space down near the lobby/fitness center and a larger seating area in the lobby than I have come to expect from this type of property

Only quibble, no milk available for the coffee either in late night or at breakfast. Otherwise all around solid stay for what it was, a place to sleep.
