I was issued the LH VISA with the business package from the beginning (earlier this year).

I just received an application for online statements rather than paper statements, starting 19 July 04. I was told by the LH Card Service hotline that if I decline the online statements, I will lose the Business Package and also the insurance coverage. If that's true, it sounds like serious blackmail toward the cardholder.

For ~$120 dollars a year, wanting paper statements shouldn't be a problem that results in the dropping of card features--I think I'll be canceling the card even though LH covers the annual fee.

EDITED: After talking with LH Card Service again twice and finally getting what I believe to be the real scoop, I need to edit this to correct a serious inaccuracy.

Declining the online statements does NOT influence which of the two you have, Business Package or Private Package. It's just an option that replaces paper statements. The difference in Business or Private is the card's price (€95 vs €85), with option of Private Package being there so the customer can choose to either pay for insurance or decline it. For SENs they're both free, of course. Still debating the cancellation, though.
