Good info to know, though how readily do they call someone at 3am? See above re: staying with aunt or uncle. One of them doesn't speak Hindi, so that could be fun.
Lots of assumptions here on your part:
a) why do you think they will call at 3 am? (you will get the SIM, it just wont be activated until wherever verification process deemed necessary is complete)
b) why do you assume that call will be made in Hindi?
You are certainly in for lot of unpleasant surprises if these comments is indicative of your knowledge/assumptions about India.
