Service animal policy-That is completely separate from ESA's. Service animals are required and trained for a specific task. ESAs are by definition: a companion animal.
example for children- I don't have kids so its not really a concern to me.
Like I said before its a stupid loophole, but you can not tell me that I don't legitimately qualify for an emotional support animal by definition.
My biggest issue is when people put "service animal" vests on ESA's. This confuses the public and is a misrepresentation of the animal. It delegitimizes service dogs as well. I prefer to keep my ESA in his carrier.
Also data point, 50% of the time I have flown with him I was not even asked for ESA documentation or pet fee payment. I always keep a hard copy of the ESA letter in his carrier.
