Advice for flight re-route / compensation claim for BA flight
Hello, I was re-routed last month from a flight from Helsinki to LHR. There were weather conditions but we were told that the main issue was there weren't any BA gates left at LHR for us to arrive (this was announced about an hour before landing). They took us to Newcastle instead and we waited on the ground for an hour or so before they eventually told us we weren't going to be able to get back to London that night. Little guidance was given after we got off the plane in Newcastle as I expect all the BA employees had all gone home (close to 9.15 pm). At that point I couldn't get back to London that night, so I stayed in Newcastle and took the train home the next day (which BA has already reimbursed for these out of pockets).
That said, should I be entitled to additional compensation for the 2 day travel disruption and should I simply request this via BA's site? Or do you request this via another site?
Thank you
