Just reporting back: ended up reserving (and getting) an LTAR. Had a choice between a tired-looking 30000+ miles BMW 4 Series Convertible or a MB C300 Convertible with 6000 miles on it. The MB is a joy to drive, and even though I believe it's the base model, it is nicely equipped with back-up cam and blind spot detection.
