I have stayed there three times and loved it everytime! It has become my fav Zurich hotel. It feels luxurious yet relaxing, the room hardware is great, service very nice, I like the design. Very international guest crowd. Some may be bothered with the location not being in the city centre but I love the relaxed location next to Uetlisberg where you can trek around and even use the train to get downtown. They offer a regular comp shuttle service to/from Boersenstrasse during the day though. Love their breakfast buffet. My biggest draw during spring/summer is the outdoor pool and bar. Its location feels very calming and resort-like, i.e. excellent for a short weekend break. A luxurious place for great relaxation. Never tried Ecco though.

That’s exactly what I’ve been hearing on the Starwood forum thread and what I’ve gathered from the more reliable TripAdvisor reviews I’ve screened. Hearing from you, who knows Aman and obviously have a comprehensive luxury perspective, and still thinks this is luxury and with great service, is the best comfort of all, though.
I actually can really love and appreciate hotels that are a bit away from the city center. If I’m on buisness, being central is critical. But if I’m on leisure, I want to be able to relax, take in views, and be able to escape, as well. The free shuttle makes this a non-factor to me, anyway. And I’m salivating at the chance to try out 2* Ecco.
