There's a huge convention (using well over ten thousand hotel rooms) coming to Philadelphia this weekend, with most people trying to arrive tomorrow (Thursday January 4th) in the afternoon. The same thing happened the last time the meeting was in Philadelphia, and the time before that, people had trouble leaving due to weather. Another time, there was the USAir meltdown with mountains of diverted and unclaimed bags sitting at PHL for days and days with no apparent progress in getting them delivered to their owners. [Maybe the group should avoid Philadelphia for future meetings at this time of year. I'd certainly vote for that. At least places like Boston and Chicago can handle snow.]
