Just providing an update since I've completed my trip.

We ended up staying at the Courtyard EU because between the two of us we had 3 cat 1-5 certificates plus a great corporate rate so a 4 night stay cost us $90 including taxes.

As a Platinum we were upgraded a business room which ended up being a huge corner room (302). From looking at the fire route map, it appeared to be the biggest room on the floor and it was definitely more than sufficient. Huge room that was divided up with a King bed on the left, a TV at the end of the bed, and then a couple of couches / another TV / Nespresso machine. There was also a big space in the middle of the room that was just empty. The bathroom was handicap friendly. There was also a fridge that was available for use (see below).

Location is great, about 10-15 minutes to Grand Place, 10-15 minutes to the various major EU buildings (though many EU buildings are much closer but the European Parliament, European Council, and European Commission HQ buildings are all about 10-15 minute walks). Brussels as a whole is relatively small so we had a pretty easy time walking everywhere (though we are young and enjoy walking quite a bit).

There are 3 Carrefour Express within a 5 minute walk which is great for filling the fridge with some local beers / water / soda / yogurt. No free breakfast (as is the norm with CY in Europe) but we were offered a reduced price of 12E/person as Plats (down from 20E) - but we declined (free Nespresso + yogurt from Carrefour was cheaper and what I actually wanted). There are also a number of restaurants nearby though all were closed due to the EU closing / holiday.

Finally it's about a 3-5 minute walk to the Arts-Loi metro station which makes any metro needs easy (we went to the Neuhaus factory outlet one day and it was a piece of cake to get there).

Wouldn't hesitate to stay here again and it's a fantastic use of the Cat 1-5 certs if looking to use in a major European city without being stuck out at the airport or some other inconvenient location.
