I can price out your first itinerary on UA.com by doing a multi-city search for BWI-HGH, PEK-BWI, BWI-YYZ, YYZ-YQB and interestingly it comes out to $318.91 not the $332 that google flights gives. But searching directly on UA.com works! and is cheaper! Haven't tried the second one yet but I suspect judicious use of the multi-city search tool might work as well.

To get the HKG-HGH segment on KA you usually need to search USA-HGH and it'll appear in the results. My suspicion as to why the links from google flights fail is that google flights has the HKG-HGH segment listed as the CX codeshare number (CX5622/5626) but .bomb sells it under the native KA code (KA622/626). But who knows though.
