My bags once misconnected at DFW when I was flying from HNL to KBP. I made the DFW-JFK flight, but the bags did not. I continued to LHR from JFK and then on to KBP. There was a direct flight from DFW to LHR a few hours later that would have allowed about 3 hours for bags to be transferred to the Kiev flight. I thought that that was the sensible thing to do, and I believed that that was what AA was going to do. Instead, I saw my bags 4 days later. That (and other) experience coupled with the advice of some of my friends here led me to believe that no one was looking for my bags, no one was eager to reunite me with them. :-) Bags await to be found and then sent on to their owners. It seems to me that computers decide everything.
