Well now Stranger, THAT makes a lot more sense! The AC agent I spoke with couldn't answer my 2-pass, one PNR question, but they did tell me the AQD went to the person who purchased the pass. (I should know by now to doublecheck anything/everything AC says with the FT experts!)

Rule of thumb - the Air Canada call centre agents actually don't know much and often get information wrong.
I am very happy to hear that the agent you spoke to didn't tell you that R space is required to do this. Looks like AC has hired some university students instead of high school students this time.
