We were there over NYE too and the lounge food was indeed great. Although the lounge was packed this evening and there were far too many children running around.

This time they gave isn’t one of the two (I believe) Terrace rooms with a discrete private balcony. These rooms aren’t listed on the web site inventory so very nice. I’ve had a suite before and they are excellent but the private balcony was very special.

This may be the best Le Meridien in the world and it is certainly the best value. Pains me to say this because Bangkok used to be my favourite.
