Thank you very much for all the replies; I'm really grateful for the help and advice. And sorry for the late reply - I hope everyone enjoyed the holidays.
Fortunately, as I was visiting the U.K. it was fairly simple to find out that my medications were allowed in.
I followed the advice here and placed all my medications in my carry-on bag. I made sure to place each bottle in its own transparent plastic bag with the corresponding paperwork, and placed all medications in one dedicated tray at security. While I had five medications in bottles, they went through fine, however they did have to open the two boxes of Lidocaine patches and scan each one individually. Though it took a while, the TSA staff member was very courteous. It just took a little longer than normal but I was kind of expecting that anyway!
I don't know if it was because I had more than one box, or whether the Lidocaine patches are classified differently in some way, but if it helps anyone in future (which I hope it will!) if you are traveling with Lidocaine patches, I recommend allowing a few more minutes just in case they decide to check them as they may scan each one separately.
Thank you very much again to everyone for all the help. I appreciate it.
