I was off to JFK in December and used the departing passageway to get from A to C, as we came down the elevator we were met by 2 American Lads asking where the taxi stand was. They had just come off a flight and somehow ended up in the wrong passageway and couldn’t work out how to leave the terminal.

I tried to explain they were in the wrong place and had to go back so they could go through the UK border. They didn’t get it, even tried explaining they would enter the country illegally and could get in big trouble.

Needless to say they ignored the advise, thanked us and continued to go up to departures in 5A...

We continued on to 5B, so I’ve no idea how it ended for them, hope it went ok. But I wonder if they got help to the border or if they left... Suppose I’ll never know.
