It still is very dated...but the furnishings are in good condition and the rooms clean. We didn't have a problem with the mattress or pillow. I can definitely see noise being an issue - the doors (floors/walls?) do a poor job of keeping out noise. Also, we were awoken every morning at 4.00am by the call to prayer. Bring earplugs if you're a light sleeper.
