If saving £7k foor a couple on l/h travel is predicated on not paying a few £000 in T&F, I do politely suggest a good head-shake is in order
It is only saving £7000 if the person would have otherwise purchased a fare at £8000. There are lots of fares offered on airlines to CPT for a lot less than £4000 ; e.g. TK at £2350 ; of course , start somewhere like AMS and will be down to GBP2050
If trying to say that the continuing fares disguised as charges are reasonable, I would suggest a good head-shake is in order
