A cute and curious staff member in a concierge lounge in Hong Kong came up to me an hour after I entered the lounge and started to chit chat. Eventually she mentioned she "looked me up" after she saw me enter the lounge (because having status under the age of 25 is uncommon in Asia?) and she was asking me about my previous hotel stays and what I do for work etc.
I also befriended the entire shift of lounge staffers in a Chinese Marriott hotel and over drinks they let it go that they all knew my previous hotels, etc.
My ex gf works for a SPG hotel doing reservations and she confirmed that they see a short summary of Marriott program participation but no in depth profile.
Obviously lounge staff (especially manning the entrance) often have more time to fill idle curiosity than front desk.
I wonder how many (if any) of my casual and serious complaints have been logged in some kind of universal Marriott profile of me available to all staff.
