The point is more that it seems like a waste of money to have a separate PIN pad when they could just hand over the actual terminal instead, especially since the terminal itself wasn't exactly in a bad location.
Sounds like they went with whatever their MSP gave them, then someone with poor training installed them. Remember these don’t come with instructions either.
