Unless you call CX and was able to get someone who is willing to answer by the information you provide, otherwise I think the only way to tell is to view the pax's PNR record to see if anything was cancelled. While if nothing was cancelled, you can't be certain if anything happen; if subsequent segments were cancelled, you know your relative no-showed at gate. Either way, you would need to know the pax's record locator.
