Yep - you only forfeit the minimum deposit amount originally advertised if you cancel far enough ahead. I did this once when the holiday price fell so much we cancelled, rebooked and were still well up. Changes to a booking do seem to depends on who you speak to. A friend needed to change one and paid £60 to change airport, date and hotels etc.
