In fact, if you have bought a BA flight number, for this purpose it does not matter at all whose metal it is.
I can't remember what the state of play (or knowledge) was when this thread was first started, but it has long been the case that a flight counts as one of the two/four eligible flights requirement so long as:-
In all cases the flight must be one that earns Avios/TPs under the usual rules for it to count as one of the two/four eligible flights.
