The blockade as a European traveller from CPH, has really affected me with Qatar and my oneworld status. Im Emerald, but the logistics aren't really working... I used to fly Qatar, from CPH or Stockholm to DXB or DWC via Doha for weekend breaks, 5 or 6 in a year, which would always be enough to keep up emerald status. The problem of course is that you cant fly to DXB now and logistically it becomes difficult with one world.

I have thought about taking the weekend breaks in DOH instead, ive stayed many times in DOH and for a weekend sunshine break it can work too, but i cannot understand why there is no real fare promotion to its home turf.. To have to fly to DOH return is probably Qatars most expensive flight. You can practically fly to DOH anywhere in the world within reason at the same price of a return flight to DOH from say CPH..... I don't understand the logic in the slightest. Im now seriously considering asking EK for a Status Match.... So please Qatar, drop the prices for straight trips to DOHA. Would have thought the country wanted tourists, rather than 1 day transitors.
