When you call retention, and have a lot of MR points , is it still possible to get retention offer, or do they think because you have a lot of points in your account , you won't actually cancel?
I had 40K MR still sitting in my account and still received that offer. It may have been higher had I not had those points in there, but AmEx is smart and knows that it would be worth a lot to them for those points to expire unused. So my guess is that a smart model would take this into account, but not entirely prevent an offer.
