agreed. travel during festive season helped my luck but not to be expected. at least my mother program QF NEVER op up its members and i never expect them on QF. i used to think JAL also very tough on this area but it probably means not AS strict as QF
expertflyer also helps to guide expectstions... when J were wide open and PEY or Y is all zeroed out like Y1B0, at least i found op ups as OWE is not impossible so something to look forward to.
i know the rules. i pay (cash or miles) when i want J. but morale of story is even when i dont need it (like intra asia runs) it can happen on full Y cabin
