MCI-EWR-FLL is unlikely a true P fare. As a matter of fact there are no P fares filed. So being on a 'Y'UP fare of sorts makes this near impossible to do. On a true P fare (e.g. on an intl. itinerary) you should be able to waitlist for a premium seat (not that most agents will know how to do this).
