OP - You use the word "transfer" rather than "connection" and that leaves me wondering whether you are traveling on more than one ticket. If you are connecting, you should not have been able to purchase (or maintain if there are changes) a ticket at less than MCT. Whether that is within SCT (Sensible Connection Time) is purely a personal matter, e.g., does it take you longer to walk, do you require assistance, do you want to stop for something to eat?
If you are transfering between tickets than you are not connecting and the issue is not the time between gates, but what happens if your inbound flight is late. In that case, your outbound ticket will likely be cancelled and will retain whatever value it retains under its fare rules. You would then need to purchase a new ticket at potentially walk up prices. Thus, a matter of risk tolerance for you.
D-I won't involve GE or a TSA checkpoint and whether you have checked bags or not won't matter because those ought to be checked at your origin point.
What is your exact routing and flight details and are you on one ticket?
