Just a heads up. My wife recently flew from Australia to USA via China. In Beijing while transiting, security confiscated all the mixed baby formula for our 12 week old baby. A very upsetting experience for her as we like to use bottled water when mixing the baby formula. It was unexpected as previous check-points (Australia, USA, Philippines) allowed her to carry on the formula in reasonable quantity for the duration of the trip. The Chinese just drained it all and gave her back the empty bottles for the 10 hour flight to Seattle. Luckily she had some extra formula and Hainan Airlines provided her with bottled water on the plane. An unexpected occurrence - hence the heads up.
