But, looking at this from the airlines point of view. How do they know what the bag looked like before the flight? How do they know how much wear and tear it went through along the way and over the years? How do they know if you just want a new bag?
They are stuck between a softdider and a hardcase (sorry for that).

How do they know what the bag looked like? When the bag is checked in, they can have the passenger sign a waiver. I've been forced to sign a waiver when checking in a box.
I also have a receipt since I bought the bag less than 6 months ago.
Wheels aren't important? Try cutting off your right leg and see how you like it?
