11. This U.S. air carrier introduced flights with "Royal Fan Jets" in 1966. Name the airline and the equipment.
If it's royal, it must've been Delta. Your question doesn't indicate if this was an inaugural flight, and I'm pretty sure the DC-9 was introduced in 1965. The stretch 8 didn't come around until at least 1967. The Convair 880 was not a fan jet. Hmm... Maybe Delta received its first DC-8-50 back then. So, let's go with that. Delta operating a fan jet powered DC-8-50.
10. Correct! The United print ad copy read: "Again this year, all but one of the NFL teams chose United for team travel. What does this mean if you don't happen to be a pro football player? Plenty. Plenty of the same features that make the pros choose United. Plenty of room. Plenty of comfort. Plenty of good food prepared in United's own flight kitchens. Plenty of convenient jet schedules throughout the U.S. And plenty of
Extra Care. Get out and see your favorite NFL club in action. And when you fly, choose United - like the pros.
WELCOME ABOARD THE EXTRA CARE AIRLINE"
And speaking of the NFL......we received an early Christmas present this afternoon when the Saints won their game a short time ago against the Falcons in a home game at the Superdome in N.O. There has been an intense rivalry between New Orleans and Atlanta for years now and this situation was evident on the field today. With the win, the Saints have now clinched a playoff game.
11. You would think it was Delta what with their Royal Service back in the day. However, it was not DL and the aircraft in question wasn't the DC-8-50. Please have another guess, sir!
