This topic comes up commonly, particularly in winter when the jet stream reaches peak strength - up to well over 200 mph. Boeing 757-200s just don’t have the range to handle some transatlantic routes under strong jet stream conditions and must land at identified diversion airports to top up. More in the Wikipost.
