The swastika is used primarily as a symbol by Hindus, but transferred to followers of other Indic religions like Buddhists and Jains.
Sorry, but I disagree with you on the above observations. People in Japan and India might not be offended by that symbol, but I certainly am and I do not beileve for an instant that I am alone. Moreover, although Hindus and Jains may use the symbol, you have left out the fact that the swastika is used primarily by Anti-Semitic and racist neo-Nazis and other groups the world over that preach an ideology of hate and intolerance.

I do not mind the current German National Anthem as it pre-dated it's appropriation by the Third Reich and a number of its stanzas have been entirely re-written, and Germany, today, is nothing like it was during the Third Reich -- after all, it is one of Israel's best friends in Europe and many Germans visit Israel every year.

On the other hand, the Swastika, although appropriated by the Nazis, is still used as a symbol of hate; and therefore, whereas one vestige of the Nazi era has been used for nearly 60 years to represent a new Germany, the other has never been cleansed of its sinister and intolerant past.

Yes to the music, no to the swastika.
