Later next week we are flying on QF574 (05:45 PER - SYD) connecting onto the BA departure for SIN (on same PNR). Can anyone confirm whether I am able to check in (i.e. drop the bags off) the evening before the flight? If so, what time do the check in desks close for the evening?

Main reason I ask is we have a hire car with Avis and it seems that the airport drop off closes between 02:00 and 05:30, so it looks like I will need to drop the car off the evening before. Therefore, might as well load the car up and drop the bags off (thinking around 8-9pm) before returning the hire car, then there is no faff with getting all our luggage in the taxi later in the morning.

The only other alternative seems to be to drop the car off just before 2am and hang about at the airport til we can check in, but we are travelling with 2 young kids and would rather not have to do that!
